School Consultation

Upon the parents’ request, our BCBAs will:

  • Review your child’s IEP (Individualized Education Program) to confirm it effectively supports their unique needs.

  • Assess the relevance of the goals established for your child, as well as the adequacy of the procedures and accommodations currently being used.

  • Offer constructive feedback to the family to ensure understanding and clear direction.

Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) also play a vital role in IEP meetings by providing valuable insights, comparing goals, collaborating with the school team, and suggesting strategies that can be integrated into the classroom environment.

Furthermore, BCBAs are skilled in conducting classroom observations and delivering comprehensive reports, which are shared with both the family and the school team to maintain a cohesive approach to your child’s growth and success.

FAQ

Do we have a waiting list?

We do not have a waitlist because we do not want families waiting for services. If you contact us and we do not have availability in your area at that time, we will provide you resources to help you find providers who are available in your area. We are always recruiting and training new talent, so feel free to check back and see if availability has opened up after some time.

Do we use the VB-MAPP and/or provide VB instruction?

Yes! The majority of our therapists utilize the VB-MAPP assessment to assess children with deficits in the area of communication. The assessment is then used to create the communication goals needed and VB instruction is utilized to teach those skills. Learn more about the VB-MAPP here.

How Does In-Home ABA Therapy Work?

In-home ABA therapy helps people with autism and other challenges by teaching important skills in a familiar place—their home. A specialist, called a BCBA, starts by figuring out what the person needs and creates a plan with clear goals. A trained helper, called an RBT, works with the person during fun and interactive sessions to teach things like communication, social skills, and good behavior. Families are involved too, learning ways to support progress between sessions.

The therapy focuses on making sure the skills learned at home can be used in other places, like school or during outings. Progress is tracked through notes and data, and the plan is updated regularly to keep things on track. Supervised by the BCBA, in-home ABA therapy is a flexible way to help people build life skills and reach their goals.

How long do children typically need ABA therapy?

This is really determined on a child-by-child basis and cannot be determined by anyone but the BCBA and treatment team working with your child. ABA is an on-going therapy that can change and grow with your child to cater to their ever-changing needs as they continue to grow older.
