Verbal Beginnings is always working to raise the bar. When you are constantly self-assessing, you notice areas for improvement. It’s only natural. And if you aren’t afraid of raising the bar, then you get to work to make sure you are doing what is necessary to continuously improve and make better. That’s what Verbal Beginnings does, and it’s been part of our DNA since we started over 10 years ago.
Many good things have come from this kind of introspection. One of the best has to be our Pledge of Care.
It’s hard to find ABA companies that are truly paying attention to quality standards the way Verbal Beginnings’ Pledge of Care does. Sure, it’s easy to say, “Our graphs look great. Kids are improving, so we are doing well!” Yet, that’s not enough. In fact, we believe that’s only half of it.
There is another piece in the delivery of quality services that is often missing: The idea that what the client experiences matters. Not just the results and what they get when it’s over but also what they experience when they are in it. We feel deeply that the relationships we build with families should be meaningful and that the experience of ABA service delivery should, first and foremost, be what it was always intended to be: A supportive service.
That’s what our Pledge of Care intends to do. It’s a marriage of the two pieces that make our services truly successful.
Effective Treatment through Compassionate Care.
Yes, we care about what the data tell us. It’s our cornerstone. It’s what grounds our profession in science and determines and guides true success for our kiddos. That’s why it’s the first part of the Pledge of Care slogan, “Effective Treatment.”
Then we go deeper… “Compassionate Care.”
This is that missing component from, let’s face it, many medical services. The part that’s about the experience with Verbal Beginnings, the relationship part. It’s the care, compassion, respect, support, and kindness. This is what we want to stand for. It’s what we want our families to experience and it’s the way we want to do business. So, we made a commitment. We’ve all made it. Every employee at Verbal Beginnings has made the commitment to uphold a high-quality standard through our Pledge of Care. In detail, it reads:
Verbal Beginnings pledges to provide effective treatment through compassionate care from a knowledgeable and professional team that forms compassionate dependable and caring relationships with families. Our services will be effective and educational and will be delivered in a supportive and collaborative environment that continuously plans for the future.
And here’s the thing. We mean it.
We’ve gone through the work to make sure that this Pledge is at the forefront of training with staff. We’ve put in the structure and the backbone into our systems to make sure that we are living the Pledge of Care every day, and that we know when it’s happening the right way.
Our intention is to recommit to this pledge every day because we want to be that company that raised the bar and set the standard for how to deliver ABA services the best way possible, especially for the benefit of the families who rely on us.
If you’ve had a less-than-positive experience in the past, are looking for the highest standards of ABA, or are a professional who wants to join a mission-driven organization that is walking the walk… we invite you to be part of Verbal Beginnings. Come experience the difference that the Pledge of Care makes for everyone that’s part of our world- from kiddos to families to partners and professionals alike.
