Center-Based ABA Therapy
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy helps children develop important skills like talking, making friends, and completing everyday tasks, all in a fun and supportive way. It’s especially effective for children with autism, as it focuses on teaching new behaviors and reducing challenges that might make learning or socializing harder. ABA therapy gives kids the tools they need to grow, learn, and thrive at their own pace.
Early Beginnings
We believe that working with children with autism and other developmental disabilities in the earliest years (ages 1.5 – 6 years old) needs to focus on strong foundations that impact the whole self. For us this means all of the early skills like language, communication, independent play, and social skills.By structuring our program around these foundation elements, children are set up for success both in the classroom and out.
Social Beginnings
Social Beginnings is a social skills for kids program exclusive to Verbal Beginnings that provides therapeutic opportunities for children to learn and develop social skills with their peers. The curriculum behind the fun is research-driven and provides the opportunity for clinicians to monitor your child’s progress during their time in the group. Groups meet weekly throughout the year in various locations around Maryland and children are matched with peers of similar age and skill level. Group sizes are small and are led by highly experienced BCBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians.
Healthy Beginnings
Healthy Beginnings is Verbal Beginnings’ specialized feeding therapy program, designed to support children facing picky eating habits or other feeding challenges. Through individualized therapy plans, our team works closely with families to help children build positive relationships with food, improve their eating habits, and ensure they are meeting their nutritional needs. With a focus on empowering both children and their caregivers, Healthy Beginnings aims to make mealtime a positive and successful experience for everyone.

FAQ
Do we have a waiting list?
We do not have a waitlist because we do not want families waiting for services. If you contact us and we do not have availability in your area at that time, we will provide you resources to help you find providers who are available in your area. We are always recruiting and training new talent, so feel free to check back and see if availability has opened up after some time.
Do we use the VB-MAPP and/or provide VB instruction?
Yes! The majority of our therapists utilize the VB-MAPP assessment to assess children with deficits in the area of communication. The assessment is then used to create the communication goals needed and VB instruction is utilized to teach those skills. Learn more about the VB-MAPP here.
