At Social Beginnings, summer isn’t just about the sun and fun—it’s about building confidence, independence, and real-world readiness. Our Teen Summer Curriculum is intentionally designed to help teens practice the job and life skills they’ll need well beyond the classroom, all in a fun, supportive environment.
Throughout the program, teens work on essential skills like verbal and nonverbal communication, collaborating with peers, staying flexible when plans change, and problem-solving with confidence. These skills show up everywhere in life—but especially in the workplace.
NEW for this season is something really cool… the Social Beginnings Career Café! This hands-on experience gives teens the opportunity to help run a snack cart, practicing real workplace expectations along the way. From greeting “customers” and taking orders to managing responsibilities and working as part of a team, teens gain meaningful practice in a setting that encourages independence and growth. We’ll share pics of the Career Cafe snack cart soon!
The Career Café also introduces foundational job skills for the food and service industry, including organization, cleanliness, stocking and restocking, and basic money exchange. All of this ties directly into building job-readiness as they head into adulthood.
Our goal? To help teens feel capable, confident, and prepared for what’s next—one interaction, task, and success at a time.
