Located at the Verbal Beginnings Center in Columbia, MD, Verbal Beginnings provides a training opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career in Applied Behavior Analysis but do not yet have the necessary skills. This one-week program will go over the topics of Behavior Management, Verbal Behavior, and basic ABA principles. Individuals attend training seminars presented by our BCBAs, participate in live role-play sessions, and shadow professionals as they implement ABA therapy with clients.
Advanced Training Sequence
Within the first month of employment, Verbal Beginnings offers employees the opportunity to work towards their Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. To become an RBT candidates must complete the 40-hour approved coursework curriculum provided by Verbal Beginnings, participate in live training sessions with clients, and complete a competency training with their assigned BCBA. Employees will also need to receive CPR certification. Once completed, employees are eligible to sit for the RBT exam provided by the BACB Ⓡ.
Master’s Level Supervision Sequence
Verbal Beginnings provides supervision to individuals pursuing their Master’s Degree to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Joining forces with Accredited ABA programs, Verbal Beginnings supports a collaboration between education and hands-on experience to promote a well-rounded academic experience. Scholarships are offered to employees in select programs.
Professional Development for BCBAs
Verbal Beginnings promotes the professional development of BCBAs through opportunities to attend professional conferences, attend and present CEUs at The Verbal Beginnings Center, and conduct and participate in research.
