Verbal Beginnings Logo - Celebrating 10 YearsOne of our top priorities at Verbal Beginnings is our mission of dissemination. It’s important to us not only to spread awareness of Applied Behavior Analysis with our own families and staff but far into the community as well. With that in mind we’ve created webinar and learning opportunities for our broader community and hope that these will be a helpful resource to you and your contacts. If there are topics you’d like to learn more about please let us know! Reach out to our community liason Leigh Legare at l.legare@verbalbeginnings.com.

The Benefits of Early Intervention for Children Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Early intervention is a commonly used term, but we often hear questions such as, “What is it?” and “What does it look like?” and “Who needs it?” In Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) terms, and for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, early intervention services can have a significant impact on a child’s ability to learn new skills and overcome challenges (during the brain’s most adaptable years, ages 1.5-5), which can support acclimation and individual successes in school and life. This presentation will cover the importance of early intervention strategies, how they’re utilized, and address some frequently asked questions.

About Amy Atwell, PhD, MBA, BCBA, LBA

Amy joined Verbal Beginnings in 2017 and currently serves as the Vice President of Quality Assurance. Amy has been in the field of ABA for close to 20 years beginning her career in Boston, MA. A passion for training and building awareness of ABA brought her to the United Arab Emirates where she resided for seven years providing consultation for families, schools and centers in a variety of countries. A love of business and ABA drew her to get her PhD in Organizational Leadership. The ability to put all her passions together in an early intervention center-based setting with Verbal Beginnings brought out the true ‘nerd’ in her for quality assurance, ethics and compliance.
