Social Beginnings is a social skills program exclusive to Verbal Beginnings that provides therapeutic opportunities for children to learn and develop socialization among peers. The curriculum behind the fun is research driven and provides the opportunity for clinicians to track your child’s progress during their time in the group. Groups meet weekly throughout the year at our Columbia, MD center and children are matched with peers of similar age and skill level. Group sizes are small and are led by highly experienced BCBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians.
During the school year our social groups are held after school. During the summer, Social Beginnings hosts a 6-week summer program meeting 5 days per week. This program is currently held in Howard County, MD.
Fun. And Effective.

Lessons include group instruction, structured play to practice newly learned skills and guided free play to promote the occurrence of newly learned skills in the natural environment.
Social Beginnings’ After School Program begins September 23rd, 2019 and occurs during the fall and spring semesters. Breaks in the program occur and follow the public school calendar. Screenings for placement are available throughout the school year.
