In today’s BCBA feature you’ll meet M.S., BCBA, LBA Clinical Coordinator Alexis Law as she talks about her passion for being not only a supervisor, but a coach and problem solver for her team!
What’s the most rewarding part of your role at VB?
Being able to coach and support my team. I love problem-solving as a team and being able to provide oversight for ABA programming.
What’s the best part about working for VB?
Being heard and feeling like you have a voice within your company. It’s one thing to have a company allow you to share ideas, but VB puts their employee’s ideas into action.
How have you seen VB’s Core Values in action this last year?
Working on the Eastern Shore of MD provides me with a lot of opportunities to disseminate knowledge of ABA and ASD. Within dissemination, I was able to teach an ABA class where I inspired several students to begin working with VB.
What surprised you the most when you first started out at VB?
The support system and always feeling like I had someone to coach me through clinical concerns, as well as support
my growth.
What keeps you coming back each day?
Making a meaningful difference in the lives of clients, their families, and VB staff. Hearing a client say their first word, or having a client approach me for the first time is what really makes me feel fulfilled.
What would you say to those just starting out their careers in ABA?
ABA is an amazing field and you will never stop learning, growing, and helping. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and to share your opinion, it’s the best way to learn!
