In today’s BCBA feature you’ll meet Clinical Supervisor and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) Jillian Bartolini, as she talks about Verbal Beginnings’ community and culture, and why she loves working in ABA therapy.
What’s the most rewarding part of your role at VB?
Everyone always says the most rewarding part of the job is seeing the progress clients make, and I agree! This pandemic has really made that clear. We have worked in home and each client has had a limited number of people entering their home to limit social contact. After working in home with clients for 3 months, I know that upon the return to the Center, everyone they haven’t seen will be blown away with the progress and growth that each and every client has made in such a short period of time.
What’s the best part about working for VB?
VB’s community is one of the most amazing parts of working for the company. Staff of all levels are supportive and encouraging each and every day.
How have you seen VB’s Core Values in action this last year?
One of VB’s core values is dissemination. Over the past few months, I have seen staff make a huge effort to help their peers progress in not only their clinical knowledge but their school programs and career opportunities.
What surprised you the most when you first started out at VB?
When I started at VB, I was pleasantly surprised by their commitment to implementing effective and ethical therapy. No corners are ever cut when working with our clients!
What keeps you coming back each day?
Smiles keep me coming back!
What would you say to those just starting out their careers in ABA?
Find a company that supports your growth and offers opportunities to progress within the company. Also, be sure that any company you work for prioritizes using the basic ABA principles because those companies are the ones you will learn the most from!
